Edgar Allen Poe's Pie by J. Patrick Lewis
If ever there was a book to use in a classroom, this would be it! Made up of a collection of poems by US Children's Poet Laureate, each one is a riddle waiting to be solved. Even better is that each poem is based on a famous one ranging from Poe himself to Langston Hughes and A.A. Milne. You could easily just use this book and work through each math problem presented. You could also use it alongside a study of any of the ten poets whose poems are playfully reworked. This book is full of learning possibilities!
