Yayoi Kusama: From Here to Infinity
by Sarah Suzuki

If you lived in one of the cities lucky enough to host Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Rooms, you couldn't have missed the polka dotted advertisements covering every ad surface. The installation was magical and made you gape. If you didn't make it to see in person, then this book is a wonderful little substitute. Written by the curator of the Museum of Modern Art, it is a brilliant way to introduce kids to Kusama's work or just art in general. It is full of vibrant colour and does an amazing job at showing you the world through her eyes.
Kusama manages takes something so simple - a dot - and does so much with it. What an amazing lesson for kids. You don't need to be able to sketch a nude body to paint a landscape to be an artist. But you do need to think and plan and have intention.
